| We are riding to Bursa through Isnik. Isnik’s original name was Nicaea. It was here that the Council of Nicaea met in AD 787 to agree on the future direction of Christianity.
In Isnik we went to the church where the Council of Nicaea met. Then walked to the Bazaar. Many of the merchants were curious and wanted to take a photo with me.
Entire day was sunny and warm. |
 Council met here. |
 Isnik Bazaar |
This boy followed me for awhile then asked me to take his picture. |
 Friendly merchants |
| Entire day was sunny and warm. Bursa is a modern city and is still famous for it’s Silk Market. |
 New best friend! |
 Every thing is fresh. |
 More grain bulk displays. |
When I said I was from America, everyone wanted a handshake! |

Rock and Roll, I just love international motorcycle travel. I’ll be the student while you teach with your travels.
Wonderful start to your Silk Road adventure! Enjoying the posts!!
Meeting on Maui went great! Stay safe and ride safe. Does the chase truck have a .50?
Ahem. Silk doesn’t take up much space brother-in-law. Just sayin’…
Time to tell you again how much I envy what you are doing. A few years ago I might have joined you. WHAT A RIDE!!! BE CAREFUL!!!
Dean – thanks for the pix of the riders with their bikes. Looks like a pretty large, well-equipped group. Have fun and be careful.
Fabulous trip and great photos. What an adventure!! Thanks for sharing with all of us armchair travelers!
