Day68-Ferry day 3, Fri, Mar 4, 2011

It was a  very rough night!  Woke up to more rockin’ and rollin’.   But by the time breakfast was over, the ferry was returning into the inside-passage going due east then north between the islands.  There were many sea sick passengers over the night!  Our bunk mate Kang spent part of the night in the community bathroom.  He was not alone.  Breakfast was not very crowded.

Around 10 AM we could see blue skies and white clouds ahead.  Rest of day was sunny and clear.  Top decks were packed with passengers enjoying the fiords, islands, and wildlife.

Lisa: Today was gorgeous, simply beautiful. Of the 150+ passengers, only 14 were American. I think a lot of the folks from colder areas got way too much sun today but it was a wonderful ride.

Dean:Tonight is the last night on ferry.  All the saved up wine, whisky and tequila came out for mass consumption.

Lisa: And tonight I should have been in Vegas! I got out of my bunk long enough to join the festivities. Livin’ large, we played 4 games of Bingo and I won 3 of them, and got some very nice prizes. A navimag pen, a fleece vest embroidered with the ship logo, a cap and a nice bottle of whiskey. Needless to say, there were a few unhappy people but hey, I shared the whiskey so it’s all good.

Now, we’re just ready to head for the barn. Valparaiso awaits!

Looks like I caught by Captcha again.

Great pictures! Love the tranquil water and sailing between the channels. Pic #4 looks like a volcano? Any more info on that? :)

  • HMarc

    Wow, photo #4 is exceptional!

I was gonna rib you guys for getting outside assistance on the ferry arrangements…but seeing today’s pics makes it all worthwhile. Absolutely gorgeous waters, and fun with fellow travelers. Good times.

  • Al and Kathy

Oh crap – Lisa wins 3 out of 4 Bingo games?!?!
Hey – I used to run Bingo in one of my casino jobs– I don’t like where this is going. For some reason I would suggest running – not walking down to the motorcycle deck and just checking to see if your bikes are still there>
Bingo players I’m used to have cut someone’s throat for far less of a reason. My God girl – have you no shame? Proper Bingo etiquette was to quit after you won 1/2 of the available prizes. Sharing your whiskey was enough. I’m a few days behind on reading but I am frankly AFRAID of reading what the next day will bring.

Hell – even the “captcha” word below includes “cutt and surgery”. if that isn’t ominous – what in the hell is?

Hmmmm, that one picture looks like Mt. Fujiyama which I saw many times from the bridge of the aircraft carrier, and the Cruiser I was aboard.I always enjoyed seeing it because it soon meant some special liberty. Thanks for sharing these memories with us all. You guys are SPECIAL!!
