This area is being promoted as the adventure sports center of the Slovenia.  We are here for the motorcycling and the passes do not disappoint.  Alpine bicyclists were on every pass we rode!  All around are river runners, rafting, kayaking, tubing, even sliding down rock streams in wetsuits and crash helmets.  For air nuts, hang gliding, paragliding, soaring, and parachuting.  And the area is full of trails for day hiking, backpacking, and mountaineering.  There are ski lifts everywhere for boarders and skiers of any format.
We spend 3 days in Bovec, the rain continues in light showers.   We head to passo Pordoi.  This crosses the Alps into Austria and we take another pass back.

There is snow piling up on the windshield. I love my Hippo Hands!! Hippo Hands are hand grip covers that keeps rain and snow off the gloved hands. Combined with heated grips my hands/gloves are always warm.

The Passo Pordoi, 2230 m, and snow blowing across the roads! But the roads were mostly clear.

On the way back we stopped at the emerald green Soka River Gorge.

Robert at the Soka River Gorge.

This cable bridge was shaky!

The water is a clear emerald green.

The Mangart’s Saddle (2,072 m) is the highest road in Slovenia.

We should have known something was up when the directional sign for the Mangart Saddle road was covered with a red plate.

The Mangart Road is a very technical road with very sharp hairpin turns and ...

a 22% GRADE!

Snow on the Mangart Loop road.

The tunnels were in bad shape with snow, branches, rocks, potholes along the way.

We made it to 1,733 m elevation.

This is what stopped us!

Passing thorough a Mangart Road tunnel.

The Boka Water Fall

On to Croatia!
